Having trouble sleeping in new places or hotel rooms? It might not just be the coffee you had late or an uncomfortable bed. THIS could be the reason.

My friend, who just had a baby, moved to a lovely apartment, hoping for quiet nights with her baby.

She told me, "I don't know what to do anymore.

It seems like we've tried everything."

"Could it be the phone tower outside your window?" I suggested, thinking about how close it was and how intense its EMF radiation could be.

She stopped to think. "Do you think that's the reason?"

"Maybe try moving your bed away from the tower?" I said, hoping it would help.

Doubtful but willing to try anything, she moved her bed and the crib to the corner farthest from the tower.

The next night, she told me, "We slept... both of us, finally!"

She was so happy and couldn't believe it worked.

This might sound like something from a science fiction story, but it's actually about a genuine concern.

Dr. Suleyman Kaplan, an expert in brain health, warns that even 'safe' EMF levels can affect us, especially kids, as they grow.

More parents and health experts are discussing this, pointing out the unseen dangers our gadgets bring into our homes.

So, let me share with you a few things my team and I discovered about EMF radiation.

Lesson 1: EMF Radiation Is A Global Issue – What Parents Need to Know

France's decision to stop selling the iPhone 12 made all parents think about EMF radiation from our kids' favorite gadgets.

Because here’s the truth.

EMF radiation does more than make our skin warm after a long phone call.

Dr. Joseph Mercola warns that EMF from phones and Wi-Fi releases free radicals.

These harm our cells and DNA, leading to tiredness, headaches, forgetfulness, and even cancer, says the World Health Organization.

Our children, with their gadgets always in hand or near their ears, face more EMF than adults.

Some research says they get up to 10 times more radiation than us:

Why does this matter to us parents?

Studies like those from Professor Lennart Hardell in Sweden found that young people who use their phones a lot have a bigger chance of getting brain tumors later.

No wonder, in 2019, 190 scientists from 39 countries wrote to the UN and WHO.

Led by Dr. Martin Blank of Columbia University, they appealed for stricter EMF rules – especially for children and pregnant moms.

UPDATE: As of July 14, 2023, 259 EMF scientists from 44 nationsand 15 Supporting Scientists from 11 nations have signed the Appeal.

This lesson shows we must pay attention to EMF radiation hidden in the devices our kids love.

Lesson 2: We Can’t Rely On Our Old Safety Rules

So, why would a famous American phone get banned in other countries?

It's because of old safety rules from the FCC (Federal Communication Commission) made in 1996.

Yes, you read that right, 1996.

Think about using a '96 car for today's fast roads.

That's what we're doing with our current EMF safety guidelines.

These old rules used a 220-pound man and didn't consider kids' smaller, more sensitive bodies.

sar-test-image--768x568__PID:5581e664-286c-407d-83c3-b02cb518df5d

Kids are at a higher risk because their brains are growing and their skulls are thinner.

Plus, these rules didn't see smartphones or Wi-Fi coming.

We didn't even have 3G back then, and now there's 5G, which is way stronger.

Even former President of Microsoft Canada, Frank Clegg, recently went online to explain how harmful 5G technology could be:

screen-shot-2019-09-17-at-92856-am__PID:9c64046f-5f7c-44ab-9de0-ea0137b28664

“One segment of 5G technology is millimeter waves. Millimeter waves are used by the US and Israeli government in their Active Denial systems, which are used for crowd control. And what they do is they provide a very painful reaction in the skin [and] organs of the body. We have no idea what the impacts will be to human health if that kind of millimeter wave technology is used, and we were exposed to it 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

The old '30-minute average' rule needs to be updated.

This rule used to say EMF wasn't harmful if you looked at it over 30 minutes.

That may make sense when phones were just for calls or texts.

But now, phones do a lot more.

Dr. Weiwei Chen from Florida International University found out little kids see screens for over three hours a day and older kids for more than seven hours.

That's way more EMF than the old rules thought.

This lesson tells us we need to act.

Our safety standards are too old and might put our kids in danger.

If the government doesn't update these rules, we must take steps to keep safe.

Lesson 3: If Tech Experts Worry, We Should Too.

In a 2017 survey by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, 907 parents from the tech hub shared their views.

While they recognize technology's advantages, many expressed concerns about its impact on their children's mental development and social growth.

In fact, tech leaders like Bill Gates only let their kids have phones once they're 14, while most American kids get one at 10.

There’s also Chris Anderson, former editor-in-chief of Wired magazine and now making drones with 3D Robotics.

He shared that his kids think he's too strict about tech, more than any of their friends’ parents.

Anderson explained: "That's because we have seen the dangers of technology firsthand. I've seen it in myself. I don't want to see that happen to my kids."

And get this.

In a 2011 interview with the New York Times, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs admitted that he banned his kids from using the newly released iPad.

“We don’t allow the iPad in the home. We think it’s too dangerous for them in effect.”

Even Apple's fine print advises keeping devices away from your body.

This warning wouldn't be there if there were no risks.

So, what can we learn from this?

If the brightest minds in technology are careful with their children's tech use, it's a strong message for us all: we should listen.

This lesson from Silicon Valley is clear: prioritize our children’s health by being mindful of their tech and EMF exposure.

Lesson 4: Better Safe Than Sorry

Some countries are not just sitting around waiting for scientists to decide.

They're doing something about it now by applying the 'Precautionary Principle.’

This rule means if something might hurt us, it's wiser to avoid it, even if we're not 100% sure.

For example, Germany has a special "Blue Angel" sticker on safe gadgets.

blue_angel_logo__PID:967866bd-5a6b-421b-bfaa-d028a27dd138

This sticker tells parents the gadget has low EMF radiation, so it's safer for kids.

Meanwhile, Russia and Sweden have banned cell phones in elementary schools.

Russia doesn't allow cell phone use for all grades.

Sweden's ban covers kids from 1st to 9th grade, up to about 16 years old. Kids can't use phones even during class breaks.

But in the U.S., things are a bit different.

Here, people wait for strong proof.

They don't get too worried if there's no clear evidence that EMF radiation from gadgets is harmful.

No wonder some experts think the EMF radiation from our gadgets is too weak to hurt us.

This reminds us of the old days when people thought smoking was cool.

It took a long time before everyone realized how bad it was.

By then, it was too late for many people.

With EMF radiation, we're at a similar point.

While scientists are still figuring things out, what Germany, Russia, and Sweden are doing shows us we don't have to wait for a disaster to protect our kids.

Using the 'Precautionary Principle,’ we can keep our kids safe in a world full of gadgets.

Lesson 5: Equip Yourself With Knowledge

The stop on iPhone 12 sales in France is big news for all parents.

It tells us we need to know more and do more about the EMF radiation our kids are around every day.

First, we need to learn about the risks.

Then, we have to take steps to keep our kids safe.

There are many ways parents can help.

Learning from trustworthy groups like the Environmental Health Trust, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Environmental Working Group is essential.

They have lots of information on EMF radiation and tips on how to keep it from hurting our families.

Also, talking to the people who make rules for schools or places where our kids go can help.

We can ask them to ensure these places are safe from too much EMF.

Asking questions and speaking up for safer places is a big way to look out for our kids.

The Next Step
